You only need 2 natural ingredients How to clean a gas stove top so it looks like new

You can clean a greasy gas stove top using just 2 natural ingredients:

Ingredients

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar

How to do it

  1. Remove the grates and burner caps (if they’re cool and removable).
  2. Sprinkle baking soda generously over greasy or stained areas.
  3. Spray or drizzle white vinegar over the baking soda. It will fizz as it loosens grease and burnt-on residue.
  4. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Scrub gently with a non-abrasive sponge or soft brush.
  6. Wipe clean with a damp microfiber cloth.
  7. Dry thoroughly before replacing the burner caps and grates.

For stubborn burnt-on stains

  • Make a thick paste with baking soda and a little water.
  • Apply it to the stain and let it sit for 20–30 minutes before scrubbing.
  • Repeat if necessary.

Why it works

  • Baking soda is a mild abrasive that lifts grease and food residue without scratching most stove surfaces.
  • White vinegar helps dissolve mineral deposits and grease while reacting with baking soda to loosen stuck-on grime.

Safety tip: Never mix vinegar and baking soda in a sealed container, and avoid getting excessive liquid into the gas burner openings. Make sure all parts are completely dry before relighting the burners.
