Just 1 Cup Makes Peace Lily Bloom Like Crazy (Even the Ugly Ones)

1 Cup That Can Help a Peace Lily Bloom Better (Even Struggling Plants)

If your peace lily is healthy but not flowering, a simple nutrient boost may help encourage growth. One common homemade option is a mild banana peel fertilizer tea because banana peels contain potassium and other minerals that plants use.

Banana Peel Fertilizer (1 Cup Method)

You need:

  • 1 banana peel
  • 1 cup water

How to make it:

  1. Cut the banana peel into small pieces.
  2. Put it in 1 cup of water.
  3. Let it soak for 24–48 hours.
  4. Strain the water.
  5. Use the liquid to water your peace lily.

How to use:

  • Apply once every 3–4 weeks.
  • Do not replace all regular watering with fertilizer tea.
  • Avoid overwatering; peace lilies prefer slightly moist soil, not soggy soil.

Other things that help peace lilies bloom:

  • Bright, indirect light (too much shade often means fewer flowers)
  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry
  • Keep humidity moderate to high
  • Wipe leaves occasionally so they can absorb light better
  • Use a balanced houseplant fertilizer during the growing season

A peace lily that refuses to bloom is often dealing with low light, too much fertilizer, old soil, or watering problems rather than just needing one ingredient.
